Characteristics
Ecology
Grows with aspen and possibly also with spruce, on nutrient-rich ground in damp secondary deciduous woodland and coniferous forest with aspen.
Notes
At least two species are probably included under what we call T. frondosae, and both have been found in the country (Heilmann-Clausen et al. 2016).
Similar species
May be confused with Tricholoma equestre, which grows with pine and is usually somewhat paler yellow in colour and has less prominent cap scales. Tricholoma aestuans is similar but has an innately fibrillose cap and bitter taste.
