- Cap conical to bell-shaped, white to grey-brown, slightly sticky in wet weather.

Notes
Considered edible but usually not recommended as an edible mushroom because there is a high risk of confusing it with Amanita virosa, which is deadly poisonous.
Similar species
Amanita virosa has persistently white gills, a thin ring on the stem and a sweetish, nauseating smell.
