Characteristics
Ecology
Grows with pine on pine heaths and rocky coniferous forest with reindeer lichen throughout the Nordic region, also occurs in mossy coniferous forest.
Notes
Somewhat sour in taste when fresh. If the mushroom is dried before preparation, the flavour matures for the better and the sourness disappears. All parts of the fruitbody can be used as long as they are firm in texture.
